A good User Interface needs to be clear, friendly, effective and attractive. It should meet users' expectations and needs and also exceed some of these through innovation and accelerators. First step in creating an effective user interface is knowing the 10 interaction design general principles invented by Jakob Nielsen . These are golden rules of user interface design and following them will help you identify and avoid common issues. 1. Visibility of system status Probably the two most important things that site visitors need to know are: “Where am I?” and “Where can I go next?” The system should always keep users informed about what is going on through appropriate feedback in a reasonable time. Redesigning a website is a process that is supposed to improve the current customer journey and mainly the customer satisfaction. That's why keeping the users' needs in mind through the design process is very important. In order to find the best solution and to really make a difference, take into consideration the below points:  what are the current steps?  what are the users' pain points?  what are the goals of the new design? Knowing the target users is the starting point. There are more persona* types - technophile and technophobe - and you need to understand and approach them as both will provide useful insights.
